Learning & working together

While I would love it if you decorated your walls with my images, I understand that sometimes you want to have images you created hanging there instead. Can I help you create an image that you would proudly display? I offer presentations, workshops and outings all designed to give you ideas and advice on helping you become the photographer you want to be.  Below you will find my next scheduled events to get you out and practicing more.

Street Photography Workshop

Due to concerns regarding COVID-19, we have postponed the street photography workshop until June 20. Hope to see you then. Learn to tell the stories of the streets during this workshop on street photography. We start out in the classroom with a short lecture on the uses of photography to tell stories, hints and tips on photographing on the streets, and the ethics of street photography. We’ll then head to the University District to practice what we learned in class. This workshop is geared towards beginning to intermediate photographers who have a working knowledge of their cameras and an understanding of photo techniques. Enrollment will begin in April.

Date: June 20, 2020, with optional photo critique on July 21. Registration now open. Reserve your seat today.

Landscape Photography Workshop

Due to COVID-19, we have canceled the Landscape Photography Workshop. Please stop by late to see if we rescheduled. The popular Landscape Photography class is back! What you’ll learn in this class is how to approach any natural or urban location with the confidence to find the story you want to tell. We start in the morning with an in-class lecture that covers equipment, exposure, composition, and creativity. We’ll then have an optional walk around Magnussen Park in the afternoon to discuss the various ways to approach different scenes. Two other optional field trips will be offered at later dates.

Date: May 9, 2020, with optional photo critique on July 21st. Registration opens March 15th.

When: 9:00 am to 2:00 pm

Where: The Mountaineers Seattle Program Center, 7700 Sand Point Way NE, Seattle, WA 98115
